I wanted to say a big thanks to those that sent in news, photos and videos. This site aimed to provide real time information regarding Hurricane gustav and we managed to do just that with over 25 posts in just 2 days.

Gustav not a threat but Hanna might be
Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008 at 12:16 amGustav has been lowered to simply a tropical storm, with heavy rain at the border between Louisiana and Texas. However Hurricane Hanna has popped up on the charts and might cause some strain on the Bahamas. The National hurricane center issued the following warning;
A HURRICANE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE CENTRAL BAHAMAS...THE SOUTHEASTERN BAHAMAS...AND THE TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS. A TROPICAL STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE NORTHERN COAST OF THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC FROM PUERTO PLATA WESTWARD TO BAHIA DE MANZANILLO.

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008 at 5:10 am- This is Scott in Slidell Louisiana, the eye of the hurricane came within a mile of us, major damage, limbs fallen, heavy heavy damage, my parents house, the roof is damaged, friends house - ripped that metal roof right off, the true extent of damage will be seen in the daylight

After a late Monday morning landfall on the coast of southeast Louisiana, Hurricane Gustav is spinning through and soaking central Louisiana. It has weakened to a Category 1 hurricane with winds of 75 mph but is still packing a punch
